We are within an easy drive of two of the top theme park destinations in France, Futuroscope at Poitiers, which has a number of interactive 3D or 4D experiences and rides, and Puy du Fou, with really spectacular outdoor shows – including a fullsize Roman games, Viking raid, replica villages and falconry exhibitions. Great fun for kids and adults.

There is a cycleway running the length of the Vendee coast and 60 miles of cycle tracks on the Ile de Re near La Rochelle, with a Velo-Bus to come back on if required!
